Weekly Outfit Recap | October 19–25, 2025

Leaning into fall layers and feeling grounded in my rhythm again

Last week felt like slipping back into myself. I started the week deeply excited to be back at work doing the part of my job that I love most, teaching music, not just teaching routines. We started our holiday repertoire, and it reminded me how good it feels to finally dig in and go through the learning process of music with my students. I love that!

Alaska is fully in her crisp era now. Light jackets are no longer optional, and the air smells like winter is warming up its vocal cords. My color palette reflected that too, lots of chocolate brown, soft neutrals, and little touches of green. Every outfit felt comfortable and very “me,” which is always the goal.

Sunday, October 19

Far North Fashion - Alaska Fashion Blogger

Mood: cozy, reset, feeling back to myself

I finally got back in my hairstylist’s chair after needing to reschedule while I was sick. I wore my Aerie fleece (XL) layered over an oversized Aerie tee, Aerie brown leggings, cream socks, and my chocolate brown Birkenstocks. Comfy, earthy, and perfect for a slow Sunday.

Monday, October 20 - Seahawks Game Day

Mood: spirited, low-lift, mom-on-the-move
Tonight’s Monday night football included the Seahawks, so I wore my quarter-zip Seahawks sweater with cuffed jeans from Gap Factory and Adidas. It was also spirit week at school, but the Seahawks took priority.

Tuesday, October 21

Mood: playful, teacher-comfy

For Sports Day, I leaned into casual layers: Free People barrel-leg overalls with a fitted long sleeve striped tee from Aerie, chocolate brown Birkenstocks again, and a Gap Factory canvas barn coat. Topped it off with a leopard print Seahawks cap.

Wednesday, October 22 - Conference + Convention Day

Far North Fashion - Alaska Fashion Blogger

Mood: polished, capable, stretched but proud

This was a marathon day: half day of teaching, speaking at the Alaska Travel Industry Association convention, and then straight into evening parent-teacher conferences. I wore a short sleeve matte tee from Abercrombie tucked into black Sloan trousers (Abercrombie), an Amazon belt, Adidas Sambas, and carried a Quince cardigan over my shoulders. Comfortable, classic, and pulled together without trying too hard.

Thursday, October 23 - Half Day, Big News

Mood: grounded, proud, energized

On Thursday I woke up to huge news: my choir is not only performing at Carnegie Hall, but will be featured with its own set, which means I will be conducting in Carnegie Hall. A once-in-a-career moment. I wore a white Target tank layered under an oversized Quince blazer with green utility barrel-leg pants from Madewell and my black Madewell flats.

Friday, October 24 - PD Day

Far North Fashion - Alaska Fashion Blogger

Mood: recovery + warmth

Friday was Spirit Day and Friday was a professional development day, and I dressed for comfort: chocolate brown Gap sweatshirt with matching joggers, a black Amazon vest, and my chocolate brown Uggs. Easy and necessary.

Saturday, October 25 - GNO

Far North Fashion - Alaska Fashion Blogger

Mood: social, feminine, low-key strong

I met Danika out in Palmer to see Sweeney Todd at the Glenn Massey Theater. I wore an asymmetrical off-the-shoulder long sleeve top from Abercrombie (old, linked similar), my leopard print barrel-leg jeans from Madewell, my go-to Amazon belt, and Western-inspired black boots. A true “she tried and she cared” outfit without feeling overdone.

Final Thoughts:

This week reminded me how grounding clothes can be when they feel like you. Not fancy, not overthought, just aligned. Teaching feels good again now that we are past routines and finally into music-making. The weather has shifted and so has my energy in the best way. I am grateful to feel like myself again, healthy enough to enjoy my work, steady in my routines, and excited for what is ahead.

Here’s to another week of outfits that keep me grounded, flexible, and ready for whatever’s next. Shop the week here or come hang out on Instagram.
