Weekly Outfit Recap | August 17–24, 2025

Fair Traffic, First Full Week, and Pops of Color

From tank tops at the fair to third layers in the classroom, last week had a little of everything. It was my first full week back with students, which meant early mornings, long days, and reaching for outfits that helped me feel put together even when I was running on fumes. Here’s what I wore each day.

Sunday, August 17

Outfit: Oversized Aerie three-quarter zip sweatshirt, Aerie leggings, Nike socks, layered tank underneath, and my 907 hat.

Mood: Fair day survival. The sun was out and so was the traffic, but comfort was key.

Why I wore it: I took my kids and their friends to the Alaska State Fair and met up with Danika. It took longer to park than to drive from Anchorage to Palmer, so I was glad I layered a tank under the sweatshirt — the sweatshirt came off once I was finally inside.

Monday, August 18

Outfit: White matte tuckable baby tee (Abercrombie), denim vest (Target, linked similar), Athleta pants, and Adidas white Sambas with black stripes.
Mood: Back-to-school reset. Starting my first full week with students called for something practical but still pulled together.
Why I wore it: The third layer vibe kept me feeling confident and classroom-ready without overthinking it.

Tuesday, August 19

Outfit: Brown Abercrombie sweater tee, cream Madewell barrel leg jeans, brown Banana Republic leather belt, and Steve Madden leopard print ballet flats.
Mood: Neutral and steady. A little calm in the middle of the week.
Why I wore it: Keeping it clean and neutral felt right for a day packed with teaching, while the leopard flats gave it just enough personality.

Wednesday, August 20

Outfit: White v-neck button-up Quince cardigan layered over a white tank, cropped faded black Madewell jeans, taupe Banana Republic suede belt, and taupe Steve Madden suede ballet flats.
Mood: Midweek calm. Comfortable and classic for a long teaching day.
Why I wore it: Layers helped me stay adaptable, and the neutral palette made me feel composed when the week was starting to wear me down.

Thursday, August 21

Outfit: Butter yellow long-sleeve Abercrombie crewneck sweater, Madewell barrel leg jeans, taupe Banana Republic suede belt, and Birkenstock sandals.
Mood: Long-haul comfort. It was open house night, so I needed something that could last all day into the evening.
Why I wore it: This outfit kept me comfortable for a full day of teaching. But for open house that evening, I swapped into black athletic slacks and black loafers while keeping the butter yellow sweater. I didn’t get a picture of that look, but it felt a little more polished and appropriate for meeting parents.

Friday, August 22

Outfit: Abercrombie striped white tee with black thin stripes, Old Navy maroon blazer (linked similar), faded black cropped Madewell jeans, and maroon Adidas Spezials.
Mood: Color and energy. Wrapping up the week with a little extra pop.
Why I wore it: It was the end of a long work week, and I was exhausted but also excited heading into the weekend. The blazer and sneakers gave me the boost I needed.

Saturday, August 23rd

Outfit: American Eagle boho top (XL), Anthropologie Colette crop jeans (32), and tan suede Birkenstock Arizonas.
Mood: Easy comfort. After a lazy day lounging and catching up with family, I finally pulled myself together around 4 p.m. The soft boho top and stretch in the jeans were exactly what I needed for a long evening of grilling, feasting, and soaking up those final family moments.

Final Thoughts:

Last week was a whirlwind — early mornings, long school days, open house, and family gatherings that stretched late into the night. What made it easier was choosing outfits that felt good for each moment, whether that meant leaning on third layers in the classroom or soft denim with stretch for a feast at the grill.

Getting dressed with intention reminded me that style isn’t about perfection. It’s about finding what works in the middle of real life — comfort when you need it, polish when it matters, and a little personality sprinkled throughout. That balance carried me through a week that was both exhausting and full of joy.

Here’s to another week of outfits that keep me grounded, flexible, and ready for whatever’s next.
