What I Wore in Homer, Alaska

March 2025

Sometimes the best trips are the ones that aren't overplanned — just friends, charcuterie, Bravo marathons, and a whole lot of hot tub time.
At the end of my spring break, Danika invited me and a few girlfriends for a weekend getaway to Homer, Alaska. We stayed at the beautiful West Wind Cabins — not right on the spit, but perched with gorgeous water views — and if you're planning a trip, you can use her code GIRLINAK15 for 15% off your stay. (I'll link their Instagram too!)

Here's what we did — and, of course, what I wore:

Thursday – Travel & Chill Night

  • Outfit: Honestly, I didn’t even snap a picture. (You know it’s a real getaway when you're too busy packing charcuterie boards and wine to think about documenting your travel outfit.)

  • After the drive down from Anchorage, Danika and I checked into our first Airbnb (not the West Wind Cabins yet), pulled out the snacks and margs, and spent the night in true cabin mode: cozy, recharging, and catching up on all the Bravo.

Friday — Exploring Homer + Girls Arrive

  • Outfit: Cute jeans + cozy layers for town pictures

  • We spent the morning snapping photos down by the water (because when in Homer...) and, of course, made a stop at the iconic Salty Dog Saloon for a beer while we waited for the rest of our crew.

  • Later that afternoon, we checked into West Wind Cabins, and once the girls arrived, the evening looked like this: hot tub, sauna, cold plunge, repeat.

  • Nightwear: Comfy pajamas (oversized tee and joggers for me) — nothing fancy but 100% necessary for hot tub nights.

Saturday — Pajama Photo Shoot + Town Adventures

Morning: Matching pajama set for the cutest group photo shoot inside (and outside by the hot tub — Alaska energy at its finest). I'll link my pajama set here.

  • Afternoon Outfit: Casual and cute for exploring Homer — jeans, comfy layers, and my go-to boots for wandering around town. We grabbed lunch (best wings ever — wish I remembered the name of the place!) and of course made another stop at the Salty Dog.

  • Evening: Honestly, it was nothing Instagram-worthy — just cozy, oversized layers perfect for charcuterie, hot tubbing, and late-night games back at the cabin. Exactly what a girls' night should be.

Hot Tub + Cold Plunge Style

Spending the weekend hopping between the hot tub, sauna, and cold plunge meant having a couple of good swimsuits on hand.
I didn’t get photos of every single suit in action (was too busy surviving the cold plunge!), but below are the two I wore and loved:

Black Swimsuit

White Swimsuit

Both are great options if you're looking for something comfy, cute, and perfect for a weekend of hot tubbing and lounging.

Sunday — Last Hot Tub + Goodbye

Outfit: My favorite Alaska Brand sweatshirt (so comfy I’ve had to steal it back from my daughter more than once), leggings, and sneakers for the road trip home.

  • A little love for Alaska Brand:
This sweatshirt is from Alaska Brand, which happens to be created by my bestie, Danika. It’s seriously one of my favorites — oversized, cozy, and perfect for weekends like this.
You can check out all her cute gear here (I’ll link their Instagram too!), and if you want to grab something for yourself, use code FNF15 at checkout for 15% off.
(Trust me, you’ll want to live in this hoodie too.)

  • We had one last slow breakfast at the cabin, soaked in the hot tub one more time (with a cold plunge thrown in for good measure), and packed up to head back to Anchorage.back to Anchorage.win.

The Takeaway?

You don’t need a jam-packed schedule or a perfectly documented outfit every day to have the perfect girls' trip.
Give me good food, good people, a hot tub, and an oversized sweatshirt — and I’m all in.

P.S.
